Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week to include weekends or bank holidays if required

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for the right person to join us to champion our ED&I work and provide generalist HR administrative support to the People function across the Club, Somerset Cricket Foundation and Western Storm (the women’s regional team). You’ll have a key role in operationalising Somerset’s ED&I action plan, working closely with the Head of People and Culture and external partners to drive meaningful change across our organisations. We are ambitious in our ED&I and People strategy and this role is fundamental to bringing that to life.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Main Purpose of Job:
To have a key role in operationalising Somerset’s ED&I action plan and provide generalist administrative support to the People function across the Club, the Somerset Cricket Foundation and Western Storm (the women’s regional team).

- Champion Somerset’s ED&I work to all stakeholders
- Take a key role in operationalising the Somerset’s ED&I action plan, working closely with the Head of People and Culture, ED&I the Board Lead, Somerset Cricket Foundation, Leadership Group and the ECB
- Engage with external ED&I partners to drive meaningful education and change across the organisation
- Support in the development and operationalisation of listening strategies and information collection and usage to enhance our ED&I work
- Support in the development and implementation of a variety of ED&I focussed initiatives
- Work with the digital and marketing team to develop an inclusive communications plan which amplifies our ED&I work and ensures our communications are diverse and accessible
- Support in developing engagement plans to reach diverse communities across our region
- Keep up to date with ED&I changes across sectors and in legislation to ensure we continue to operate by exceeding best practice
- Attend ED&I related conferences/events as required
- Ensure the equity, diversity and inclusion policy and standards are always upheld and always abide by our codes of conduct
- To ensure our safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times including adherence to the staff code of conduct and consistently advocating the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk at all times. Appropriate consideration must be given to safeguarding in all activities and decisions which are undertaken.

People Support and Administration

Support the Club’s fair and safe recruitment process by:
- Managing the recruitment email inbox/Applicant Tracking System
- Responding promptly to applicants
- Managing applications and sending to hiring managers
- Arranging interviews
- Support onboarding processes and inductions for new colleagues
- Administrative tasks such as issuing contracts, drafting letters, setting up new colleagues on HR platform, running reports etc.
- Support training events and programmes
- Support in reviewing policies and procedures
- Support in disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Support in implementing and managing work placements, work experience, apprenticeship and internship programmes
- Support in health and wellbeing initiatives
- Role model the Club’s values and values of the CIPD
- Take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities whenever reasonably asked.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:
Essential
- CIPD Level 3, or equivalent qualification, or working towards
- Experience of working within a role with some HR responsibility
- Excellent knowledge of the principles of ED&I
- Demonstrable evidence of successfully undertaking ED&I work at organisational level
- Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders
- Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds and communities
- Experience of planning and operationalising projects, initiatives and events through to completion
- Good IT and computer software skills
- Strong communications skills in variety of mediums
