The Stendig Calendar is a design icon. Originally created in the sixties by the father of modernist design, Massimo Vignelli, it has become a favourite of architects and designers the world over. It remains the only calendar in the collection of MoMA, New York, and has been described by Architect Magazine as "arguably the greatest calendar of all time".

Role

The team that manage the sale and distribution of the calendar are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised part-time general manager to look after all aspects of their eCommerce site,stendigcalendars.com.

The role will be across almost all aspects of eCommerce operations, and will act as the right-hand person to management. It's the perfect position for someone looking to break into eCommerce, who wants to learn the ropes at a small but dynamic business.

Hours

This is a long-term, part-time freelance role. Working days are Monday to Friday, with the number of hours per day varying by month of the year as we get closer to peak selling season:

Apr - Jun: 2 hours a day
Jul - Aug: 3 hours a day
Sep - Dec: 4 hours a day
Jan - Feb: 2 hours a day

What you will do:

OPERATIONS

  • managing international freight of stock from production site to fulfillment warehouses
  • co-ordinating operations in a network of third-party fulfilment centres across the UK, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS

  • responding to customer emails and troubleshooting problems
  • sending out marketing emails (these will have been written, this role only needs to send them out).

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • creating a social media content calendar
  • sourcing imagery and requesting permission
  • responding to comments and messages

RETAILER RELATIONS

  • managing relations with a small number of retailers we work with
  • issue invoices and organising delivery of their stock to them

WEBSITE

  • updating copy and content on the website (which is built on Shopify)
  • troubleshooting and fixing problems that occur on the site
  • some small data entry tasks
  • occasionally managing a freelance developer to execute changes to the site

Requirements

  • Well-organised, with brilliant attention to detail.
  • Able to pick-up new online tools and platforms easily; someone who finds computers and computing tools second nature.
  • Competent with Google Sheets
  • Able to write well
  • A self-starter, who can proactively solve problems, but knows when to ask for help.
  • Experience in eCommerce or logistics a bonus
  • Familiarity with Shopify a bonus
