The Role:

The eCommerce Team is recruiting for a hands-on and highly motivated eCommerce Executive to join the team! The purpose of this role is to support your category areas by ensuring we are driving first class merchandising and product management on our websites and app.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the end-to-end customer journey across your key categories through on-site search & browse, ensuring key product landing pages represents what good looks like.

  • Own the product setup process for your category areas in our Content Management System (CMS) ensuring that SEO best practice has been met and all content such as product descriptions have been signed off from our regulatory team. Regularly reviewing processes to ensure we remain efficient
  • Understanding the range review roadmaps for your category at the earliest point to allow adequate preparation time for product launches and consideration on website experience e.g., new taxonomies
  • Own the pipeline of New Product Development (NPD) coming into the category and liaising closely with the buying, supply, content, regulatory teams, and external suppliers where necessary to ensure we have all information required to get products listed in an efficient manner and to quality control all information being provided to us
  • Carry out promotional setup work and onsite execution including monthly business wide changes, ad hoc digital only campaigns, and category level initiatives
  • You will need to be confident testing all promotions in our staging and live environments to ensure the customer message is appearing clearly and the mechanic is working without any issues.
  • Re-merchandise key landing, product list and search pages on a regular basis to ensure the best experience is given for each product set and to optimise for improved performance across web and app
  • Briefing and implementing on site creative such as banners to support all promotional activity and new products launches across web and app
  • Support with the promotional discount code setup and testing for key activity before being launched to the customer
  • Carry out daily/weekly site shopping to ensure the site is fit for trading and any issues quickly rectified to reduce customer impact
  • Using a range of analytics tool to review performance of top sellers, key landing pages, search terms and product conversion for your category and to spot key trends. Utilising any key insights to re-merchandising the site where appropriate or make recommendations to the eCommerce Manager
  • Manage the full product lifecycle for a sku including removal of end-of-life products and to brief re-directs to appropriate pages. Also, removing any links to products and categories from the global website navigation
  • Supporting the eCommerce Manager with maximising product availability through close collaboration with your colleagues in Supply Chain prior to new product launches, key marketing pushes and other tactical promotions outside of the campaign plan
  • You will be responsible for managing the clearance process, working with the supply and warehouse teams to clear through any products with a short shelf life and executing appropriately on site
  • Own the relationship with the Customer Services team to resolve any product or experience focused customer issues on site and to re-engineer any processes to mitigate future issues
  • Regularly using key data sources such as Google Analytics and making any recommendations for change or actioning any changes directly on web and app
  • Utilising key business reports such as website search trends and product availability reporting and taking key actions to make necessary adjustments web and app
  • You be required to support the eCommerce Manager with weekly and monthly category reporting and additional ad hoc reporting when necessary
The Person:
  • Ideally 2 years' experience working in an eCommerce team within a fast-paced retail environment
  • Confident working with a wide variety of stakeholders and supporting the eCommerce Manager with cross channel queries or concerns
  • Experience of CMS platforms
  • Microsoft Excel experience – up to an intermediate level
  • Experience feeding into weekly reports with analysis on category performance from multiple data sources
  • A good understanding of what levers to pull to help drive sales and improve the customer experience
  • A basic understanding of HTML would be beneficial
  • Familiar with budget forecasts and key KPIs to help highlight opportunities
  • Familiar with stock handling reports and highlighting potential risks
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communications skills, both written and oral
  • Experience using Google Analytics or similar analytics tools to help measure key KPIs is desirable
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to apply analytical thinking
  • Comfortable deputising for the eCommerce Manager when required
  • Not afraid to step outside your comfort zone and take on new initiatives to support your team and channel growth
  • Understanding of SEO principles and practices desirable
