eCommerce Designer
Full-time – permanent – office based with some hybrid working
Postscript Books Ltd: Well-established multichannel B2C bookseller based in Devon seeks an ambitious and experienced eCommerce Designer to lead all digital marketing output.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will join our warm catalogue and marketing team and play a leading role in delivering our digital marketing roadmap in line with the company’s ambitious growth plans. This is a vastly enjoyable and varied role that will suit an ambitious and creative individual with experience in both online and offline design and who is looking to further their career in the book industry.
The ideal candidate will be a fast-paced and highly creative individual with a passion for books, who has a forward-thinking approach to videography and design, a solid understanding of SEO and UX, and a seamless ability to work to tight deadlines across a wide variety of projects online, with occasional print projects offline. You will combine your creativity with functionality, technology and your book knowledge to produce intelligent, informative on-brand content that maximises online sales.

Responsibilities
· Optimize all digital interactions with the target audience
· Design and execute all aspects of digital customer facing output including layouts and marketing assets for responsive web pages, email campaigns and templates, site banners, mobile, online advertising, promotional artwork, videography and social media etc.
· Promote and integrate the company’s brand and values in all design output
· Propose and implement seasonal and trending design ideas to maximise online sales
· Support the Marketing team in the design element of targeted and segmented digital campaigns to drive significant new website traffic
· Prepare briefs for each project and present ideas to relevant stakeholders, actioning new designs based on feedback
· Attend regular strategic, planning and design meetings in-person
· Review product positioning, online content, SEO and UX to identify areas for improvement, and take action where required
· Work closely with the IT department to ensure all designs are in line with current and future technical capabilities
· Support the Marketing team as required with designs for offline campaigns, such as flyers and Direct Mail
· Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
· Provide advice and guidance on the aesthetic for campaigns, projects, and promotional artwork
· Adhere to department budget
· Create any other ad hoc design-related work as required
Skills and Experience
· A strong background in content design, photography and videography
· Full knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, include excellent XD and photoshop skills
· Impeccable attention to detail and first-class layout and typographic skills
· Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and to work to tight deadlines
· A creative and innovative approach adaptable to presenting to a wide range of different audiences and age groups
· Being a reader with an interest in books and an ability to understand and convey the marketing potential of individual titles, as well as genres
· Good experience of email design strategies and HTML
· Excellent spoken and written communication skills
· Experience in using Magento and DotDigital would be advantageous
· 3+ years’ design experience in a marketing department creating design collateral for multi-channel campaigns for both online and offline media
· A degree in graphic design (or equivalent)
· A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase experience and creativity
