The Adult Community Eating Disorders Team (CEDS) in Bedfordshire and Luton is looking for a Band 4 Clinical Support Worker to join our team of dedicated, compassionate, skilled people with a shared sense of purpose to support people in Bedfordshire and Luton to a life worth living and improved health, via reduced eating disorder symptoms and distress, and improved functioning and safety.
There are new and exciting developments happening within the service and we are expanding our core multidisciplinary team. We are looking for Band 4 Clinical Support Worker with a keen interest in service development and delivery to join our thriving and innovative multi-disciplinary CEDS. We are willing to consider candidates who work part-time or job share arrangements.
The post holder will provide high quality and effective support to the multi-disciplinary professional team in the implementation of care, support and treatment to patients referred to the Adult Community Eating Disorders Team (CEDS) in Bedfordshire and Luton. They will work closely with the team Clinical Nurse Specialist offer medical monitoring and intensive support to service users with severe and complex eating disorders in the community, which includes physical examination, investigation, ECG, phlebotomy skills. Working closely with the team therapists and dietitians, they will also provide rmeal planning and recovery support, delivered in a sensitive and motivational manner. This would be carried out in the outpatient’s clinics and home environments.

Service users will be seen at a variety of sites across the county of Bedfordshire and Luton and the post holder will be expected to travel and provide clinics throughout the county to meet the service needs and for clinical supervision and MDT meetings. Travel to in-patient services outside the county may also be necessary to support service users for discharge. The service user group seen by the post holder will include people experiencing severe or complex eating disorders, and may present with high levels of physical and psychiatric risk, with high levels of distress, for example suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviour, and histories of trauma and abuse. The post holder will work closely with the Operational Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist to agree case and workload levels, and systems of monitoring quality of practice. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team
