We are Worldwide Flight Services, WFS for short - proud Ground Handling Partner of easyJet here at Edinburgh Airport since 2018. We handle all easyJet services, flying to over 40 destinations from Scotland’s Capital. From serving guests through Bag Drop & Boarding to handling their baggage and ensuring a safe, professional operation around the aircraft. What does our Operations Controller do?
We are looking for an Operations Controller to join or team here as we head towards our busiest year yet. Our mission is simple, to be the Best Ground Handling company in the UK and to do that our Frontline operations needs to be supported by our Operations Controllers who command oversight of the whole operation around the clock.
Our Operations Controllers are the first point of contact for our customer airlines (easyJet) ensuring there is a clear and open line of communication from the flight deck of the aircraft right through to all our operational departments and 3rd party suppliers. Working closely with the Ramp & Guest Services Supervisors, they ensure we capture of all relevant operational details and changes and these are logged and communicated.
In this role you will be handling:
- Day to day management of operational information flows
- Work with regulatory and customer standards and guidelines, maintain a working knowledge of industry best practice
- Actively promote a Just Culture and support the Safety Performance to embed a Just Culture approach throughout the whole station
- Work closely with the senior management team on the development and implementation of the continuous improvement programme - we will be the best of the best!
- Be the main operational point of contact for both external and internal customers, third parties and airport partners
- Produce operational reports, both internally and to the airline customer and other stakeholders with regards to operational output
- Assist in completion of the required paperwork whist continuously mentoring new staff trained on this procedure
- Communicating all operational changes and requirements by both our customer and airport authority
- Responsible for all required communication pertaining to scheduled aircraft movements
- Complete compliance checks to ensure flight file paperwork meets airline and regulatory standards
- Control and file all post-flight documentation
- Report any incidence related to the Safety involving passengers, crew, staff, aircraft, baggage, facilities and equipment, Quality of the service, airport Security, Health & Safety and Environment
- Drive vehicles airside to provide crew transport to and from aircraft.
What shifts will I be working?
In short, its an average of 37.5 hours over the whole week on a 4 on and 4 off shift pattern to ensure up to 24 hour a day overage of the operation.

Yes. Winter too, in fact we would love you to stay with us year-round. This opportunity is a permanent contract.

- Full UK Driving Licence with 6 or less points
- Providing a full 5-year history of employment, education & including any gaps of unemployment
- Clean criminal record, all successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and provide 5 years referencing history.
