This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Healhty Cornwall. The aim of Healthy Cornwall is to provide health improvement services across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly that encourages all residents to make healthy lifestyle choices that will support physical and mental wellbeing.
This is achieved in the following ways:
- We provide accessible information about physical and mental wellbeing that will inform our population about what constitutes a healthy lifestyle.
- We direct people who want and are able to make positive lifestyle changes to either on-line or locally available resources.
- We provide support around healthy lifestyles to those people in most need, (targeted personalised lifestyle support and tailored advice).
The service strives to reduce health inequalities by taking a targeted approach and working with individuals and communities with the most need in areas of high deprivation or those who are socially excluded.
The role holder will be responsibility for producing easy read materials to promote health improvement and public health messages and campaigns for use across Healthy Cornwall, the Wellbeing and Public Health Service and the wider Council.
There may also be a requirement at times to produce easy read materials for health and social care, voluntary and community sector or to offer advice and guidance to these organisations.
Easy read is an accessible format of providing information designed for people with a learning disability. The easy read format is easy to understand because it uses simple, jargon free language, shorter sentences and supporting images.
The role will mainly be working from home but the successful candidate will need to be able to travel to the Truro, Camborne and Bodmin offices during the month to meet with our colleagues with learning disabilities and or Autism .
