We have a fantastic opportunity for a Step up to Social Work Project Lead. You will work closely with Local Authority Representatives from the East Midlands Partnership and with a procured University to coordinate and support the delivery of the fast-track Social Work qualification programme.
Step up to Social Work is an intensive, 14-month, full-time programme for individuals who what to become a social worker, but do not have a degree in Social Work. As a Project Lead you would support and work closely with Local Authorities and the HEI to meet the programme delivery requirements as set out by the Dfe, these include: -
- Planning the advertising and recruitment of candidates to the step up to social work programme.
- Supporting Local Authorities in the sifting and selection process, this takes place every two years in the recruitment of candidates to a new cohort.
- Chairing monthly Partnership meetings with the HEI and Local Authority representatives
- Working closely with the Lead Authority to ensure that funding criteria is met in line with the DfE requirements
- To attend DfE programme meeting for updates and changes, as well as sharing with the DfE the Partnership viewpoints and feedback.
The post is sessional, working averagely 4 hours a week, with increased hours to approximately 20 hours a week during the planning and recruitment of candidates to a new cohort. Candidate recruitment is every two years.
You will ideally have a background in Children’s Social Care and be a registered social worker. Experience of managing a project within a multi-agency setting is also a requirement, as is the ability to build productive relationships to support effective working. The post is hosted by the Lead Authority within the Partnership, which is Derby City Council.
