Job description
Due to rapid growth, we are now looking for an Early Years Teacher to join our Kids Planet Rugely Nursery, in Yorkshire. With more than 150 settings, Kids Planet Day Nurseries provides the highest standard of nursery care and education within a unique environment in which children are actively encouraged to explore, learn and interact with others.
The nurseries has a lively setting with lots of creativity and have teams who are dedicated to the care of children. We are looking for individuals to provide hands-on, fun, creative and an innovative environment for children.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- To have a key person role within the Pre-School room and work alongside the Pre-School room leader
- Carry out and lead changes across all rooms and age groups where necessary.
- Observing activities being carried out and feeding back constructively to the team setting realistic targets to support and ensure the needs of children are met.
- Observing spontaneous activities to ensure staff are listening to children, making the most out of the child’s interests and views to provide learning opportunities.
- Role modelling good practice activities in the room and outside.
- Peer observations of staff, Joint observations of staff with room leaders, Joint observations of children alongside staff.
- To work in close partnership with the manager to ensure a consistent approach throughout the nursery.
- To take a lead role in the overall curriculum of the nursery and to be actively involved in supporting new initiatives as and when necessary. Carry out spot checks of the quality of planning, observations and learning journeys.
The ideal applicant:
- Must have experience working in Early Years Teaching
- Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted
- An excellent knowledge of the EYFS and experience of working with children and families
- Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding
- Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
- Able to demonstrate multi agency working and leading staff meetings
- Managing and maintaining administration requirements
- Beneficial to have had Phonics Training
