Early Years Support Worker/Apprentice

We are seeking an Early Years Support Worker to work in our busy, happy nursery in Bearsden.
The intention of the company is for the successful applicant to go on and undertake an Apprenticeship. This would be conditional to positive performance reviews during a trial period. The rate of pay will change to reflect an apprenticeship wage at the start of the Apprenticeship.
The nursery is open from 8 am – 6 pm, Monday to Friday. We are looking for applicants to be available between these hours where necessary, contracted to 40 hours per week.
We are looking for a confident, friendly and enthusiastic person to join our team and support our children, staff and parents. Successful candidates will be expected to play an active part in the day to day running of the nursery and will be answerable to the qualified staff in the playroom. Good communication skills are essential for this role in communicating with children, parents and colleagues. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a team and demonstrate the ability to work as an individual. The successful candidate must be willing to undertake an apprenticeship after successful completion of a trial period as a Support Worker. Good time management and workload management skills are also required.
Successful candidates must be prepared to register with the Scottish Social Services Councils (SSSC) at Support Worker level and be prepared to join the PVG Scheme. This is paid for by the candidate.

Salary: Minimum age-related wage as a Support Worker during trial period and then relevant apprentice wage when apprenticeship commences.
