We are looking for a fun, kind and caring Early Years Assistant who has a real passion for the children to join our lovely, well-established private day nursery. If that's you we would love to hear from you! We are based in South Croydon, Greater London and are a family run Nursery that has been open since 1995.
As an Early Years Assistant your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Developing and maintaining professional relationships with parents and carers
Supporting children with their individual personal hygiene needs
Providing effective and regular feedback to parents on their child’s day, personal development and any other relevant information
Ensuring a bright and stimulating attractive room with colourful appropriate activities and displays showing children’s work
Assisting with care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the nursery
Supervising children at all times indoors and outdoors including mealtimes and snack breaks

Salary: £24,076.50 per year
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

We support the children within our care, protect them from maltreatment and have robust procedures in place to prevent the impairment of children’s health and development. In our setting we strive to protect children from the risk of radicalisation, and we promote acceptance and tolerance of other beliefs and cultures.
Designated Safeguarding Lead
We have named persons within the nursery who take lead responsibility for safeguarding and
co-ordinate child protection and welfare issues, known as the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL), there is always at least one designated person on duty during the opening hours of the setting.
All applicants should be aware that a huge part of the role is ensuring children are continuously safeguarded from any harm. Any job offers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, thorough referencing, an induction programme, and 3 months’ probation period. All successful candidates will be given lots of training upon starting their role.
The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’.
