We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work in an established Children's Centre team.
Children's Centres are at the heart of Derby City Council's Early Intervention Strategy and provide support and services to families with children under 5 years.
The successful candidate will be part of a locality management team and have supervisory responsibilities for Family Visitors and other associated staff.
You will also be required to:
  • Working closely with partner agencies and across a range of sites
  • Co-ordinate, develop and plan Core Purpose services to improve outcomes for children under 5 and their families within the locality

  • Manage staff and cases in line with the Early Help Case Guidance
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and a good understanding of working with children and families with a commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children.

As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.
