Delighted to be supporting a large law firm based in central London in recruiting for an Early Legal Careers Assistant.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the firm’s established programmes and activities as well as helping the teams to support their client groups and goals with bespoke initiatives and exciting and innovative projects. Key duties will include:
- being a first point of contact for trainee development queries and monitoring the departmental inbox;
- developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels within the firm, building confidence, trust and respect;
- being a trusted adviser to the trainees and executives;
- maintaining the department intranet pages, regularly reviewing these to ensure accuracy;
- maintaining the budget documents and ensuring invoices, expenses and payments are made promptly;
- providing ad-hoc support for wider projects and initiatives as required;
- maintaining the firm’s applicant tracking system;
- overall responsibility for the running of the firm’s assessment days;
- overall responsibility for the review process for trainee solicitors and executives;
- looking after the relationship and events with several universities;
- striving for continuous improvement of department administration including processes, procedures, and systems;
- supporting the team with the successful running of the firm’s nine schemes including three vacation schemes and several inclusion programmes; and
- supporting the team with the successful running of the trainee induction programme.
The team
The team are responsible for attracting, recruiting and retaining approximately 40 solicitors and legal executives a year. With the team attending many events around the country.
About you
The successful candidate will be central to the success of the team, supporting across all aspects of the team. You will be a highly efficient organiser, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Clear and confident communication skills are a must as this role involves dealing with internal clients at all levels and external contacts on a daily basis.
In addition you will meet the following requirements:
- educated to A-level or equivalent;
- strong written and verbal communication skills;
- excellent organisation and administrative skills;
- ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines;
- possess a desire to take ownership of processes and their actions;
- proactive manner with strong client service focus;
- excellent attention to detail;
- experience in a busy office environment is desirable; and
- experience using systems/databases is desirable.
