What is an Early Careers and Talent Manager?
Have you got a genuine passion about how we develop and grow early career talent? Do you ever look at student attraction campaigns and wish you could get involved to make it really amazing? Are you determined about making talent processes much more than just a process? Do you want to work for a business with an award-winning culture where you will make a real difference?
You do? Great, then read on as this might be the role for you….
What does this role cover?
Danske Bank’s Early Career and Talent Manager will have 2 main areas to focus on. Firstly to lead the development and management of early career programmes; apprentices, school leavers, graduates, so that we build future skills and bolster our long term talent pipelines. Secondly to support internal talent management processes so that we understand the strength of our succession into critical roles, leading to clear talent actions.
In many ways, this role will be what you make of it – but as a start point here is some of the detail that sits underneath these two main priorities:
- Build and lead an ambitious and compelling early career strategy across our business. This includes the development of a refreshed graduate scheme for 23/24. It’s a very exciting time to be in this role!
- Partner with early career groups, training providers and multiple stakeholders to create a fully collaborative and innovative approach that will attract, grow and retain early career talent
- design and deliver the overall campaign for student recruitment, manage Danske Bank voice and presence to drive engagement
- develop an innovative, exciting development programme for entry level talent that accelerates development, and connects with our organisational purpose and ambitions
- support early career talent moves to align with business priorities and support career ambitions
- Establish strong relationships with the relevant contacts in schools, university careers offices, university faculties and other educational and industry bodies so that we work together in a productive and mutually beneficial way
- Manage any associated funding compliance, liaising with internal and external bodies to progress this funding efficiently
- Collaborate with the Head of OE and HRBPs to facilitate the talent management processes for functions; creating a regular rhythm of talent forums with clear actions and follow through, so that this focus on managing talent becomes well embedded as part of our culture
- Contribute to the design and delivery of talent interventions such as development centres, or talent assessments.
- Bring new ideas to evolve and improve our talent management processes so they are nimble and impactful
- Bring talent insights and innovations to the broader HR agenda to help shape the overall people and culture agenda
- Grow and sustain purposeful working relationships with both the HR team, and with functional leaders
- Regularly report key data points both qual and quant that help to track, measure and inform progress
What sort of experience will be most useful?
- Previous experience of School or university recruitment, administration of apprenticeship programme
- Early careers programme management
- Talent management, training and development and other HR related experience
- Project management
These are the skills which we think will set you up for success and which we will ask you to evidence
- Collaboration and relationship building, with a proven record of successfully managing multiple stakeholders both internally and externally
- Excellent organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm when juggling multiple priorities
- Strong numerical skills, including data analysis and data insights
- Coaching and mentoring
- Creative thinking and innovation
The few things that might suggest you are not a fit;
- If you don’t like being part of a team or aren’t prepared to roll your sleeves up and help others when things are busy
- No sense of humour – we take our work very seriously but occasionally do have to laugh at ourselves
- If you have a fixed rather than a growth mindset – we are all about “how do we make this even better?”
Your benefits:
