Job description
About the role
Applications are sought from suitably qualified English language tutors to teach on intensive on-campus or online EAP courses. These courses are designed to prepare international students for entry to university degree programmes in starting in late September.
The successful applicants will prepare, evaluate and moderate learning on courses designed to prepare international students for study on university degree programmes.
We offer courses that are six or ten weeks long and you will be able to declare a preference for length of course in your application.
The courses will be either online, on-campus or both. Whilst we will do all we can to accommodate preferences for online or on campus provision, this is subject to the needs of the operation and you should be prepared to do either.
About you
We are seeking tutors who can teach high-quality lessons within a communicative approach on an intensive course. You should be able to adapt to institutional and student needs and be willing to collaborate with colleagues in the ongoing development of the English language programme.
You will hold a recognised TEFL qualification, such as CELTA, and have substantial experience in teaching EFL, ideally with Chinese and Arabic speaking learners.
Experience of teaching on pre-sessional or in-sessional EAP courses in a university context is highly desirable.
Additional information
Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as we continually review the teaching requirements for the summer courses. If you haven’t heard within one month of submitting your application, you can assume that you haven’t been successful. The outcome of your application will be confirmed by 30th June 2023 at the latest.
Interviews will take place via Zoom or face to face in Leicester at a mutually convenient date.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to James Lambert at [email protected].
