Job description

The DDS is an exciting two-year rotational graduate scheme where most of your time will be spent working within multidisciplinary teams.

During your first year, you will undertake six-month placements supporting DDaT projects, and benefit from gaining broad exposure to colleagues across the wider profession including Business Analysts, Technology Delivery Managers and Data Analysts. You can expect to operate proactively and flexibly, contributing to team projects and will have the opportunity to take ownership for individual tasks and activities, with guidance from senior members of your team.

The role will be located within Croydon or Sheffield with occasional travel to our Central London or regional hubs, this will be subject to each placement.

13 of the positions will be based at Croydon and 2 positions based at Sheffield.

Due to the busy nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work full time hours and candidates should take this into consideration when submitting their application.

Hybrid Working

A hybrid working pattern may be available, where business needs allow for this role, staff will need to attend their workplace a minimum of 40% of their contracted hours, averaged over an agreed period to align with business needs.

Main Responsibilities:

Throughout your first year of the DDS scheme, you can expect to develop your learning and build your skills through exposure to varied DDaT disciplines. You will engage in a broad range of activities and tasks which will be subject to your assigned placement and may include:

  • Assisting senior colleagues in developing product road maps, delivery plans and apply varied delivery techniques. Capture key milestones and manage risks, issues, and dependencies appropriately.
  • Analysing and manipulating data across a range of sources, using analytical techniques including data mining, time series, forecasting and modelling to identify and predict data trends and to provide business insights to stakeholders.
  • Managing, collecting, migrating, and cleaning data to ensure data quality, presenting data and conclusions logically and concisely in an appropriate format.
  • Applying a range of analytical tools and techniques for analysis and data visualisation.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, work with senior colleagues to develop working practices, and actively build relevant stakeholder relations.
  • Assisting with the day-to-day ways of working in order to bring out the best in the team and develop an understanding of how to facilitate appropriate team ceremonies.
  • Within a multidisciplinary team, work with senior business analysts to develop skills in requirements engineering, workshop facilitation and process mapping in line with best practice guidelines You could also participate in assessing service and process improvements.
  • Draft requirements/ and user stories to deliver features and ensure business outcomes satisfy user need.
  • Develop performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for services, building dashboards and compile in-depth analytical reports.
  • Collating, cleansing and interpreting data, to derive meaningful and continuous improvement insights and apply appropriate analytical techniques.
  • Analysing customer experience data from live services, providing insights, iterate products and service features and outcomes.
  • Managing specific aspects of the project life cycle adopting relevant project methodologies including Agile / Waterfall.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, work with senior colleagues to develop and apply effective project control processes to report progress, manage escalations and track change.In your second year of the scheme, you will choose one of the following specialisms:
  • Business Analysis
  • Performance Analysis
  • Technology Delivery Management
  • Project Support Officer/Project Management
  • Data Analysis (Croydon only)

Essential criteria

You will be a graduate having already attained a minimum 2.2 degree in any subject

  • Clearly demonstrate your passion for developing a career in Digital Data and Technology.

  • Be willing to support and make a positive contribution to the Dynamic Development Scheme whilst working collaboratively with the cohort.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to take 3 online tests: Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning and Judgement Tests. If you pass these tests you will proceed to complete the remainder of the application process.

Sift and Interview Dates

Sift is expected to take place week commencing Monday 22nd May 2023.

Interviews are expected to take place week commencing Monday 12th June 2023.
