If so, NSL are currently recruiting for a DVLA Enforcement Officer.
What you will be doing…
Our Enforcement Officers play a big part in removing untaxed vehicles on behalf of the DVLA.
Your day starts with a briefing from your manager, and making sure you’ve got everything you need for the day ahead. You’ll drive one of our specialist ANPR vehicles which locate untaxed vehicles on public highways as you drive by. You’ll then be responsible for making sure any vehicles flagged are clamped and dealt with in the right way.
Key elements of the role...
- Attends a daily briefing and collects all de-clamp information and reports relevant to the day’s work
- Ensures all vehicles and enforcement equipment is serviceable and fit for purpose, reports all faults to the Pound Manager
- Completes daily reports regarding activities, clamp loads and equipment issues
- Operates an ANPR vehicle to locate untaxed vehicles on public highways, and takes action as per operating procedures
- Clamps or seeks permission to remove and impound the vehicle, completes the CLE2/6 ticket via a tablet P.C. compiles a vehicle condition report and photographs the vehicle and location as further evidence
- When advised by the Cashiers, will de-clamp vehicles, and take further photographic evidence.
- Working with other agencies, when required including, Police, DVLA and DVSA.
- Deals with enquiries from the public regarding enforcement action and ensures the relevant information packs are available
- Must be flexible in their attitude to working hours, locations and must be prepared to take on other roles, temporarily, as required by the operation
- Be presentable and show high levels of personal integrity and honesty
- To liaise with members of the public and give advice regarding the clamp and removal procedures in a courteous manner ensuring that our customer care policy is adhered to at all times
- To advise the public on payment methods and other issues regarding enforcement action taken on their vehicle
- To use and be responsible for the care and general maintenance of any company equipment allocated in order for daily tasks to be carried out
- To report all occurrences of equipment breakdown and irregularities to the pound manager
- Dealing with members of the public is a big part of the role, sometimes in difficult circumstances, so you must be a great communicator.
You will be required to work 42.50 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays) Shifts vary, so flexibility is essential.
What you will need…
You must enjoy dealing with people, be friendly polite, and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers. PC skills would also be an advantage, however you must have a full UK Driving Licence.
The ideal candidate...
- Must have a full UK Driving licence
- Ability to communicate with the public, often in difficult and demanding circumstances.
- The ability to communicate with customers, often in demanding circumstances
- Previous experience in a customer service environment
- Strong communication skills with good written and spoken English
- Familiarity with the Vehicle and Excise Registration Act ( VERA ) 1994
