We have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our custody team to support projects around drug misuse.
You will be a key member of a team that supports and promotes drug testing on arrest in order to promote referrals to treatment services and understand the true problem of drugs.
In this role you will provide administrative support and training to custody staff around drug testing on arrest, including providing progress reports and reporting data to the home office, you will also liaise closely with partners agencies such as our custody diversion teams. You will administrate the drugs education program which involves liaising with external agencies and recording the attendance of those on the program.
In this role your Main Responsibilities will be:
- Managing and exchanging relevant information with partner agencies in line with current legislation
- Producing reports and providing data to the home office and colleagues
- Managing and updating databases including inputting and extracting data
- Supporting drug testing in custody by ensuring equipment is maintained and in stock as well as championing the process to colleagues
- Adding entries to niche around attendance on the drugs education project
- Allocating drugs education project candidates to their courses
Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing
- Skilled computer user with knowledge of databases and spreadsheets including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience of niche is desirable but not essential as training is available
- Experience of working with multi agency partners, exchanging information and making reasoned decisions
- Experience of preparing reports and correspondence
- Ability to quality assure information to ensure accuracy and validity of data.

This role benefits from home working as well as the requirement to work from either Bridgwater or Patchway custody suite once a week, the working arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate.

This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises.
