We have a fantastic opportunity within Change Grow Live Kirklees for a Drugs and Alcohol Specialist to join our team! You will be based for part of the week within the Huddersfield University Campus, working collaboratively within the student cohort. You will provide specialist advice, guidance and harm minimisation as well as support to access and engage with services.
Where: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
- Work collaboratively with University colleagues to raise awareness of drug and alcohol harms, and share evidence based harm reduction messages
- You'll be supporting to raise awareness of treatment options with CGL’s Adult and Young Persons Services and facilitate access into service
- Attend events, develop promotions, attend outreach such as night time economy events and collaborate on digital engagement to meet the needs of the cohort
- Support continued engagement with services and facilitate referrals into either Adult or YP services in Kirklees
- Work as part of the wider CGL Outreach team and support disengaged outreach
- Contribute to joint projects with Huddersfield University and feedback to support service development
- Experience of assertive outreach and effective engagement
- Excellent drug and alcohol knowledge and experience in delivering evidence based harm reduction advice and messages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of partnership working and understanding of organisations competing priorities
- Ability to work independently, but also to contribute to team working
- A commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
