Job description
We are looking for a Refuse loader / Waste Collector required for a refuse company situated in Bath.
You will be going out in a LGV lorry with a driver and another loader, and you will be traveling to houses in the Bath area collecting the Black bins and loading them and offloading the rubbish from the lorry. Each team is allocated to an area to cover each day of the week. The work is active and involves bending, lifting, and carrying the bins back and forth.
As a refuse loader your key tasks will be:
· Picking up the black bins from the curb side
· Loading the black bin onto the hopper
· Returning the black bins to the curb side
· Helping to unload the waste at designated facilities
· You must have an upbeat physical approach to work, be physically fit and able to walk for several miles per day.
· You must be able to work as part of a team.
· You would work outdoors in all weather conditions
You will be going back and forth to the depot a few times to tip and then go back out again.
You are required to attend a 4-hour unpaid induction before you can start your first.
Uniform provided
Typical working hours would be between 6:00am to 7am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. You may sometimes need to work on Public Holidays, and weekend overtime may be available.
£10.81 an hour
Full training provided and detailed induction
