Freeway Recruitment are looking to register temporary workers for a client for the following role:
Role: Drivers Mate
Job type: Temporary
Shifts – (Days): Monday to Friday, Tuesday to Saturday as well as adhoc days
*You must be available to work a Saturday shift every 2nd weekend (paid at time and a half pay)
Start time: 0700am / 0730am / 0800am – Staggered starts that can change week to week
Description:
We are looking to register applicants who have experience working as a Drivers Mate. The role requires a Drivers Mate to support the lead driver working as part of a home delivery team. You will be delivering goods to general public customers for a home and building product specialist. As a Drivers Mate you will support all aspects of the daily distribution requirements, from safe loading of goods onto the wagon on a morning with the Driver, customer courtesy calls pre-delivery, supporting house/delivery location, safe unloading of goods, manual handling of goods to customers property and delivery point, successful completion of all delivery paperwork, keeping the wagon and box trailer clean and tidy, helping in the warehouse to ensure all returns are safely logged back in.
Requirements:
- Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all time
- Be reliable and hold excellent time keeping
- Hold a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to your work
- Good command of English both written and spoken
- Excellent communication skills
- Keep vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times
- Have excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network
- Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic
- Presentable and professional appearance
Qualifications / training / experience:
You must be able to provide the following;
- Proven experience in previous Drivers Mate role
- 2 work check-able work references
Pay
£11.00ph basic hours / £16.50ph Overtime / £16.50ph all hours Saturdays
