Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver's Mate to join our team to assist our HGV drivers in on multi-drop runs to restaurants and takeaways. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining exceptional customer service. Job Description:

• Accompanying HGV Driver: Travel with the HGV driver to various delivery locations, assisting with navigation and ensuring on-time deliveries.
• Goods Handling: Safely and efficiently move goods from the delivery truck into customer premises. This may involve carrying items, using trolleys, and navigating staircases or going downstairs.
• Payment Collection: Collect payments from customers when required, following company procedures for cash handling and providing receipts.
• Documentation: Obtain signatures on invoices to confirm receipt of goods, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
• Quality Assurance: Verify that the correct goods are being unloaded at each delivery location, cross-checking with delivery notes and invoices.
• Timely Work: Work efficiently and collaboratively with the HGV driver to ensure timely deliveries and adhere to delivery schedules.
• Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers, providing assistance and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Safety: Comply with all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Liaise with sales teams to ensure drops are delivered within schedule.

Requirements:

• Physical fitness and stamina to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy items.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling paperwork and invoices.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions from the HGV driver.
• Flexibility in work hours, as this role may involve early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekend work.

Schedule:

• 44 hours per week.
• Monday-Thursday, 11 hours per day.
• Weekend and overnight available after probation.

Salary: £10.42-£10.87 per hour
