JOB DESCRIPTION: DRIVER & FACILITIES SUPPORT
Reporting to: Management
Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours
Annual Salary: £24,000-25,000 per annum

Job Purpose
1. Maintain a suitable and safe environment for the needs of CV and its members. Ensuring the charity’s minibus service runs efficiently.
2. To drive members from home to the centre and back and perform other driving duties as necessary in compliance with CV’s policies & procedures.
3. Assist management in the execution, direction, and coordination of all transport administration, such as: organising schedules & routes, recording transport attendance as well as vehicles being safe/meet legal requirements.
4. Assist the management team to ensure that Croydon Vision is fully compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
5. Support with the management of Croydon Vision’s buildings, ensuring a safe environment.
Driving Duties
● To be responsible for the cleanliness of the minibus fleet.
● To carry out vehicle checks and report any concerns to Management.
● To be responsible for the welfare, safety and service of our members; offering assistance where appropriate as per CV’s visual awareness training.
● To alternate with other drivers in supporting the New Addington club.
● To be responsible for ensuring that the required number of seats are in place and secure and that the necessary wheelchair restraints are available for the planned journey.
● To be responsible for the correct use of safety and security equipment ensuring that all passengers and yourself wear a seat belt at all times.
● To supply a copy of your driving license every 6 months on request, and to immediately advise Croydon Vision of any license changes or endorsements.
● Planning routes and liaising with management and drivers to improve timing of service, keeping record of transport attendance.
● Support management by planning vehicle service, maintenance record of each vehicle including insurance, MOT and LOLER as required.
● Assist management in making sure transport provision for events and excursions are planned effectively, bearing in mind health and safety requirement and timing.
● To undertake any other duty that may from time to time be reasonably required.
Buildings and Facilities Support
● Oversee the maintenance of the building by performing minor repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed.
● Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance.
● Keep the surrounding grounds properly cared for and landscaped.
● To support groups and individual members during activities.
● Assist with administrative tasks that relates to building management.
● Responsible for ensuring the security of the building.
● Compare costs for various services and goods relating to the building before recommending the best options to management.
● Cleaning and upkeep of the facilities and the courtyard as well as supervise external cleaner for the main building.
● To support managers to fulfil their responsibilities with regard to building management.
● To support transport & facilities manager on any ad-hoc tacks assigned.
Essential
● A responsible driver that follows traffic rules and regulations.
● A D1 license holder, skilled in driving minibuses or equivalent.
● Proven record of picking up passengers and listening to their concerns.
● GCSE and over.
● Basic understanding of motor vehicle engine functionality.
● Experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
● Experience in general administration - record keeping and dealing with confidential information.
● Experience of attending meetings and ensuring follow-up action.
● Knowledge and commitment to implement equal opportunities.

● Building management experience.
● Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
● Be committed, reliable and effective time management skills.
● Be creative, flexible, and proactive.

MiDAS Trained
