Being a driver in our school means being part of something big. You’ll be the one who gets the children to school on time and returns them home safely, creating positive relationships with the children and parents.

This is a 20-hour per week role and is paid for 46 weeks at an annual salary of £9,770-£9,947.
Your role as a Driver/Escort will involve both driving one of the school minibuses and escorting the children whilst they are driven, collecting them from their homes in the morning, and returning them after school. The number of young people in each vehicle will be between one and 6, and there will always be 2 Driver/Escorts present. You will be responsible for the safety and behaviour of the children, and for using a variety of online reporting tools to record any communication from/to parents, or any pupil concerns. You will create and build positive relationships with the children and parents.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a DVSA minibus familiarisation course. All employees will undertake staff induction training and a variety of face-to-face and online training.

Westmorland School is a successful, independent specialist day school for young people aged 5-11 years who have autism spectrum disorder and associated behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
Hours
You will work Monday-Friday, 20 hours per week, and your hours will be split between the morning and afternoon school runs, 07.00-09.00am and 3.00-5.00pm. This position is term time only; you will not be required to work school holidays.
