Working hours - Split shift 06.30 – 10.00 14.30 – 17.00 ( rough times )
- Contracted hours will be between 22.5 – 30 dependant on allocated run
Job description -
To drive a vehicle carrying passengers who may have learning disabilities, other cognitive impairments, and physical and sensory impairments, to and from school or college, day centres or other venues.
The work will involve exposure to people with complex physical and mental disabilities, who may be agitated at times.
To be the responsible person for the condition of the vehicle on a day-to-day basis.
To work in accordance with our safeguarding policy.
To work as part of a team in order to deliver an outstanding service to our communities.
This is an active role and there will be some requirements for moving and handling e.g. assisting people to walk, pushing of a wheelchair and use of a vehicle tail lift.
This job is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Be a positive role model in your interactions with children and adults using the service.
Be familiar with, and adhere to, the values of WSCC and be compliant with key regulations i.e. Health and Safety/Safeguarding, standards and procedures.
Be physically able to undertake all the required aspects of the Driver role.
Be able to work as part of a committed and dynamic team to achieve the shared goal of delivering consistent and outstanding service.
