Duties

Performs work related to the gathering and development of materials and reporting of activities in support of the technical projects for the Sex Offender Treatment and Behavioral Health program.

Serves as the Sex Offender Treatment and Behavioral Health program's liaison to the budget and/or finance office to provide information, monitor budgets, submit requests or changes, and similar activities.

Assembles and compiles preliminary data for use by the staff in estimating funds needed for the unit's program and activities. Based on information received from the staff, assists in the compilation of the annual budget which is submitted for review and approval.

Maintains operating plan records showing allocations and current status of allotted funds for the Sex Offender Treatment and Behavioral Health program. Keeps the staff informed of surpluses and deficits and makes adjustments as directed. Reviews and monitors output reports generated by the automated budgeting system.

Makes audits of reports, expense accounts, and other vouchers related to the Sex Offender Treatment and Behavioral Health program. Determines that necessary funds are available and that expenditures are in accordance with fiscal regulations. Assembles accounting data and complies periodic or special financial, statistical, and other Sex Offender Treatment and Behavioral Health program reports.

Performs work required to complete periodic oversight reviews for the Sex Offender Treatment and Behavioral Health program.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS
  • 07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:

    A. One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples are assisting in the development and/or implementation of clerical or administrative procedures for application within an organization; or selecting and arranging data and information from files and other resources for use by others in completing larger reports and projects;

    OR

    B. Substitution of Education for Experience: Basic requirements may be met by completion of one (1) year of graduate level education (18 semester hours/27quarter hours) that is directly related to the work of the position. (TRANCRIPTS REQUIRED AND MUST BE PROVIDED WITH APPLICATION);

    OR

    C. A combination of education and experience as listed above.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
