We are currently hiring for the position of:


LOGISTICS DRIVER


The Logistics Drivers are responsible for supporting the logistics team, particularly with the delivery and pick up of supplies and equipment. This role acts as support on the ground during the festival and during setup and tear down. The main responsibilities include liaising with venue reps, offering logistical support at events, road closures, and red carpet/lineup spaces, driving to deliver supplies and facilitating daily drop offs and pickups for venues and events.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shall include but not be limited to:


  • Execute logistical support plans for assigned projects and complete all tasks as per given specifications
  • Attend production meetings, training and orientation sessions prior to onsite work as assigned
  • Assisting with logistical operations planning including helping with production schedules, inventory management and distribution i.e. radios, signage, etc
  • During festival, maintaining clear communication with the onsite teams, liaising with team lead regarding pick up/drop off requirements of passengers and/or goods
  • Provide event production support for programming, sponsor and partner activations during load-in, setup, festival and load out
  • Must be comfortable with heavy lifting
  • Will be using a vehicle to drive supply deliveries
  • Adhere to all applicable traffic laws while driving in a safe and courteous manner
  • Adhere to all parking pass restrictions and regulations
  • Adhere to TIFF’s Safe Driving Policy Ensure the safety and security of all passengers and/or equipment in transit
  • Keep a detailed daily log, including incident reports and other important documentation and deliver detailed post mortem notes by September 24th, 2023.


RATE OF PAY:
  • $22.00/Hourly

CONTRACT DATES:
  • August 1, 2023-September 22, 2023


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous experience driving a company owned vehicle and/or providing delivery service is preferred
  • Experience with indoor and outdoor event setups and operations
  • Previous festival, theatre, or large event production experience is an asset
  • Must be at least 25 years old (due to rental car insurance agreements)
  • Valid G license, and clean driving record
  • Legally allowed to rent specified vehicles
  • Job will require some heavy lifting, comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and excellent customer service
  • Must be prepared for manual labour and to travel from venue to venue in rain or shine.
  • Familiarity with major and minor streets in the downtown core, location of TIFF designated hotels and Festival venues
  • Required to handle assets and supplies in an ethical and confidential manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Desire and ability to take initiative and coordinate projects
  • Able to focus and handle changing information under pressure, and in a demanding environment in a calm, alert, and professional manner
  • Willing to adjust work schedule as required to meet established deadlines including evenings and weekends
  • Required to work daily during Festival period at site builds, screening venues and outdoor activations as required.
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
  • This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
