Job description
Topspeed Couriers Ltd, a specialist courier company, are seeking to employ courier drivers in the SW area of London to work on contracts that provides secure, event & time critical services to a leading company in the forensic Industry, along with more General work on Government & Private contracts.
In addition to having good driving skills, there is a particular requirement to be able to accurately complete chain-of-custody paperwork for the Forensic work to ensure the correct & timely collection and delivery of highly sensitive samples.
Topspeed operate, service and maintain a large fleet of Mercedes Benz vans around the UK and as a driver you would take ‘ownership’ for the company vehicle which would be kept at your home address.
The company manages its drivers and vehicles from its Operations and Maintenance Head Office in Cheshire, using the comprehensive TomTom vehicle tracking, telematics and communication platform. Drivers are issued with company clothing and smart phones used for day-to-day contact.
The Forensic work involves pre-planned, scheduled runs that can take place during days and nights. Work rotas are normally distributed a week in advance. However, there will be a need to operate on ad-hoc and rota’d General work.
It is expected that most drivers will work an average 40 hours-per-week, not including any weekend work. Pay is calculated from the moment you leave home until your return and paid monthly by BACS. As an employee, pay is subject to PAYE (National Insurance and Income Tax) in the normal way.
The Forensic work demands high levels of accuracy and customer focus and we would be keen to talk to interested people who can demonstrate reliability and flexibility throughout their career. Due to the sensitivity of the work it is a requirement that you are capable of obtaining security clearance to SC level and capable of passing a basic credit Check
London Pay scale £11.47 + 30p per hour fuel Saving and H & S bonus if achieved.
Rising to £11.97 + H & S Bonus on successful completion of Security Vetting
