About The Role

Location: Ilkeston, Derby

• Salary £33,327.52 per annum
• Working Monday - Friday / 04:00am - 13:45pm
• Occasional overtime will be required when needed
• Transport Manager's CPC advantageous but not essential. Some driving will be required when needed
• Excellent pay package (additional supervisor supplement paid monthly) , National CPC in Road Haulage desirable but not essential.
• Must have clean UK licence class 2 minimum and driving experience of at least 5 years.
• Good IT skills although training will be provided.
• Overtime available at higher rate.
• Full PPE provided

What will I be doing?

• Managing the Drivers pre-shift and at the start of the shift to ensure they commence their rounds safely and promptly whilst resolving any issues until normal office hours commence.
• Managing and investigating vehicle / personal incidents and any road traffic accidents.
• Investigating and resolving near miss / hazard reports.
• Weekly vehicle inspections / gate checks.
• Responsible for ensuring the downloading of VU and Drivers’ tacho cards and reviewing infringement reports with Drivers.
• Ensuring vehicles are presented for service on time and inspections (inc. LOLER) are completed as per company standards.
• Responsible for driver inductions and training, as well as delivering toolbox talks.
• Complete yearly driving and pre-employment driving assessments.
• Occasional cover for Driver sickness / absence as required (LGV licence is therefore essential).

What are the requirements?

• It is essential to have an LGV (CAT C) Licence and Driver CPC Card.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid First Aid Certificate (training can be provided for the successful candidate).
• IOSH qualification (training can be provided for the successful candidate).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including basic PC skills – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
