Duties

Conducts highway/road/street clearing and snow removal using medium and heavy vehicles and equipment (big plows) requiring a Class 3 license with air-brake endorsement; operates/controls multiple blades and salting mechanisms; and performs ancillary road maintenance and labour services for the Parks Canada Agency.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Possession of a valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license, or other provincial equivalency, with air brake endorsement. Provision of a driver’s abstract, which is to show a minimum five (5) year driving record that is free of at-fault traffic accidents, convictions, suspensions and revocations.

Substantial and extensive experience in the operation of commercial and heavy equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, salt trucks, and snowploughs.

Experience in the operation of road graders or the ability to be trained to an acceptable level of proficiency in grader operation by Parks Canada.

Ability to perform general labour tasks as they relate to roads and grounds maintenance.
