Roofing Labourer and Driver

Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roofing Labourer who also possesses a valid driver's license to join our dynamic roofing team. As a Roofing Labourer and Driver, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various roofing projects while also serving as the designated driver for the team. A company car will be provided for transportation, and you will be required to pick up the team from the site location each day, Monday to Friday. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in roofing and a passion for driving to expand their skills and knowledge in the roofing trade.

Responsibilities:

Assisting in Roofing Projects: Work closely with the roofing team to carry out a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:Loading and unloading roofing materials and equipment.
Setting up and dismantling scaffolding and ladders.
Handling roofing materials and tools as needed.
Removing old roofing materials.
Cleaning and preparing work areas.

Driving and Transportation: Utilise the company-provided car to pick up the team members from the designated site location each day, Monday to Friday, and ensure timely transportation to different job sites.

Maintaining Company Vehicle: Take responsibility for the company car's cleanliness and upkeep, ensuring regular maintenance and adherence to safety regulations.

Adhering to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team members. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe working practices.

Assisting in Roof Repairs: Assist in repairing and patching roofs as needed, working in collaboration with the roofing team.

Job Site Support: Provide support to the roofing team, including handing tools and materials, as well as any other tasks required for the successful completion of the project.

Communication: Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient coordination of tasks and smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Roofing Experience: Prior experience in roofing or related construction work is preferred. Knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and techniques will be advantageous.
• Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is essential for this role, with a clean driving record.
• Driving Skills: Demonstrated ability to drive safely and responsibly, with good navigation skills to reach various job sites.
• Physical Fitness: This role involves manual labor, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions. Physical fitness is necessary to perform the tasks effectively.
• Safety Awareness: Strong adherence to safety guidelines and regulations is crucial to minimise accidents and injuries.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take instructions from supervisors effectively.
• Punctuality and Reliability: Must be punctual and dependable to ensure the smooth functioning of daily operations.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to assist in accurate and precise roofing tasks.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
