Job description
Aelia Duty Free are looking for an enthusiastic Warehouse Assistant to join their logistics team. Based at our warehouse at Luton Airport, this role will involve receiving deliveries, validating delivery documents, maintaining warehouse inventory and housekeeping standards.
Applicants MUST hold a current Driving Licence, with a valid C1 (7.5T) classification. This is required for transporting of stocks between warehouses and stores, applicants would also ideally hold a reach forklift truck licence, but this is not critical.
Hours: 37.5 over 5 days, includes weekend and bank holiday working
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Checking in goods:
- Picking stock for the store
- Packing the stock into cages/pallets ready for transferring to the store
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Assisting and processing security screening of goods at cargo centre before taking to store
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Checking in coming deliveries against supplier paperwork.
- Storing products in their allocated locations
- Assist in stock takes
Security:
- Ensure all stock/deliveries go to the store safely and securely
- Ensure the safe usage of the forklift truck and lorry (if required)
- Complete daily inspection of the forklift truck and lorry (if required)
Customs and Excise Regulations:
- Assist Supervisor / Manager in ensuring stock is always moved in compliance with C & E regulations
- Assisting the Supervisors/ Managers / Admin in actioning shop and warehouse breakers, in compliance with C & E regulations
Health & Safety:
- Safe usage of all manual handling equipment (pallet truck)
- Safe usage of all vehicles
- Daily inspection of forklift/ lorries
- Responsible for being aware of any potential hazards within the Warehouse and reporting them to the Manager/ Supervisors/ HR Dept
Housekeeping:
- Ensure warehouse floor is kept clean and tidy
- General housekeeping
- Dispose of all waste products in line with guidelines
Miscellaneous:
- Ensure there is a full supply of carrier bags, boxes etc from the warehouse to the store
- Responsible for wearing the correct company uniform
- Be responsible for own punctuality
- Be prepared to undertake Any ad-hoc duties required as per the needs of the business
- Be prepared to adjust working hours / days as per the needs of the business
- Weekend working as part of shifts to ensure a seven-day operation
