You will be an experienced driver with a clean licence, and ideally have worked as a multi-drop driver in central London. You’ll be looking for a job where you can use your initiative to get the job done, including planning your routes, working with your supervisor to ensure that your route is manageable and allows you to drive safely and professionally. In return you will be well rewarded for your efforts. The company’s drivers have a great deal of responsibility and autonomy and the pay for this role reflects this. Area of Responsibility:
The driver is responsible for supporting the profitability of the business through the timely and safe delivery of orders, dealing courteously with clients and projecting a positive and professional image of the company at all times. In addition the driver should pass back any market intelligence gathered from customers to the relevant sales team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To present a professional, smart and courteous image of the company at all times
- To ensure vehicle is kept clean and tidy, complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
- To ensure the vehicle is securely locked and immobiliser/alarm used at all times
- To ensure the vehicle is correctly loaded within its operational limits and to secure any materials that could cause damage during transit
- To drive with regard to the Highway Code and in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves and other road users
- Working with the warehouse supervisor to plan an efficient and timely delivery schedule to meet both company and client expectations
- To complete the delivery schedule in the time allotted
- To follow clients’ safety and booking-in procedures or requirements with regard to deliveries to site or their premises
- When needed, to assist the warehouse in the picking of materials for delivery
- To assist in loading of goods on to delivery or collection vehicles in a safe and controlled way
- To be aware of the companies Health and Safety Policy and adhere to it at all times.
- To wear the correct PPE and clothing as supplied by the company all times.
- To record start time and time of each delivery
- To comply with company FORS policy
