Job description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver and Yard/Dispatch Assistant to join our client team. This role primarily involves operating a van for the transportation of goods, but also includes supporting yard and dispatch operations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid counterbalance license and have a passion for providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a van to transport goods to designated locations.
- Ensure the timely delivery of goods, following specified routes and schedules.
- Assist with loading and unloading items onto the van, ensuring proper handling, and securing of goods.
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour during interactions with customers at delivery locations.
- Assist in the day-to-day yard operations, including organizing and maintaining inventory, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the dispatch team to fulfil delivery requirements, communicate any changes or delays, and optimize routes for efficiency.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Continuously monitor and report any potential safety hazards or concerns.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory management, picking and packing orders, or assisting colleagues in different departments.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record.
- Possession of a valid counterbalance license.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and basic inventory management is a plus.
Pay rate: £11.50 per hour, weekly pay!
Shifts: Monday till Friday 0600-1400(these times may vary depending on bookings)
