Job description
Drivers required on an ad-hoc basis for short-notice cover, weekday/weekend day & night shifts to drive vehicles up to 3.5T.
Our client operate a Decontamination Unit in Birmingham 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day, servicing various hospitals in their catchment area. They employ a team of drivers to collect used surgical instrument packs from these hospitals and transport them back to the Decon Unit for cleaning and reprocessing, and to then redeliver the packs back to the hospitals.
Our client requires us to build up a pool of 'standby' drivers who can be called on at short notice to cover illness or other last-minute gaps in their driving team. Shifts will come up on an ad-hoc basis and at short notice, it is unlikely that there will be regular shifts available.
Successful applicants will be required to drive vehicles up to but not exceeding 3.5T, will need to be physically fit, have good communication skills and be well organised and well presented. All relevant training for the role will be provided by our client as part of the induction prior to your first shift.
Applicants will need to have at least 12 months driving experience and have no more than 3 points on their Category B driving licence to be considered for these roles.
Applicants will need to register with Frontline Health Professionals before they can be put forwards for any available shifts with the client. The registration process is free of charge.
