Job description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager the Driver/Attendant will function within the guidelines of the companies and department Policies and Procedures. He/she is responsible for the safe transport of patients to and from all CHI centers. Also, transport and performs other request by the departments for CHI business.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) years experience as a driver desired.
Licensure / Certification:
Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. First Aid Training course to be obtained within 60 days of employment. Must be licensed for seven (7) years and have a valid Florida CDL License.
Skills / Ability:
Ability to read road maps, and complete paper work as required. Ability to move and/or lift patients and equipment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION)
Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner as instructed.
Picks up patients and transports to designated service areas on a daily basis.
Make special deliveries as requested by supervisor.
Follows established schedules for transportation.
Exercises care and good judgment in providing a safe environment for the patients.
Transports and delivers pharmacy medications, medical records, inter-office mail, supplies, x-ray etc., to the different sites on a daily basis.
Follows Posted and Universal Precautions at all times when body fluids or other chemicals are present.
Driver will maintain a professional, courteous attitude toward patient and co-workers at all times.
Follows appropriate Departmental and Company Policies and Procedures.
Immediately informs supervisor/designee of any delays or problems that arise, seek to provide safe solutions to identified problems.
Informs supervisor/designee immediately of any accident involving patients, vehicle, etc., following Departmental and Company Policies and Procedures.
Performs daily safety and other regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on vehicles in accordance with PM Program.
Performs daily routine check i.e. tires, all fluid levels, lights, body damage.
Follows all Florida Driving Laws and maintain current licensure.
Maintains passenger statistics.
Answers the radio within four rings with average response time of 3 minutes.
Attends mandatory in-services training and annual updates as required by Companies Policies and Procedures.
Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
