Job Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable HGV1 Driver to join our team. As an HGV1 Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service while adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.

This position requires two nights out per week.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain HGV1 vehicles for the transportation of goods to customers across the UK.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, following best practices for secure transportation.
  • Plan routes efficiently, considering traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to all road regulations and comply with relevant laws, such as tachograph and driver's hours regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other drivers to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly to the appropriate authorities and the Transport Manager.

Requirements

  • Valid HGV1 license with a minimum of two years' experience in HGV driving.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
  • Digital tachograph card and a good understanding of tachograph regulations.
  • Knowledge of relevant road transport legislation and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • A responsible and safety-conscious approach to driving.
  • Flexibility to work two nights out per week.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
