Job description

We are looking for a part time member of staff 9am - 2pm hourly pay of £10.00 2-3 days per week.

An exciting opportunity to become part of the Hounds of Harrogate team.

We are a growing, well established business based in central Harrogate. Our aim is to continue to provide a five star service to our clients (and fur friends!) with exceptional care and attentional to detail.

Please note that as well as walking individual and groups of dogs, and puppy visits, you must be confident at driving in and around Harrogate as each day involves a number of driving hours. Your working hours will be 9am - 2pm.

You must clear a DBS check and will be fully insured by us during your employment. You must be able to show exceptional time keeping and be reliable and punctual every day.

MAIN SKILLS/DUTIES

- Full UK driving licence

- You will have a company vehicle to use during working hours only.

- You must show exceptional time keeping.

- Experience of walking, caring for and working with dogs/animals

- You must be able to demonstrate previous examples of having responsibility, taking care of other people dogs is a huge responsibility.

- Confident, outgoing, excellent social and communication skills.

- Take excellent pictures of the dogs to update clients of their daily adventures

- Clean up after dogs

- Confident at driving, each day consists of a number of driving hours whilst picking up and dropping off the dogs.

- Display a clear understanding of making every walk as enjoyable as possible but safe for all dogs

- Overnight house sitting/pet sitting (to be discussed at interview)

- Show experience of dealing with situations in a calm and controlled manner

- Eagerness to learn and grown with the business

- Capable of walking in all weather conditions

- Ensure dogs are returned as clean and comfortable as possible should it have been a wet/muddy walk

- One to one walks may require experience of working with dogs who may not be able to socialise with other dogs

- Willingness to undergo any training required or deemed necessary

- Attend a review meeting at the end of each month

- Puppy visits will entail information regarding what the client would like you to do during your visit

- Pay will be £10.00 per hour

- Working hours will be Monday - Friday 9am - 2pm.

- The ideal candidate would be looking to work for us on a permanent long term basis, and willing to show commitment to joining what is already a thriving expanding business.

Should you be successful you will be required to sign a formal contract both before and after your three month probation period.
