What you’ll do
Working in the UK Data & Analytics team, the Senior Data Architect will take overall responsibility for establishing and leading a new Data Acquisition & Management strategy across the business. You will be responsible for understanding the business priorities and ensure data for reporting and analytics capability is fit for purpose, strategically delivered and actionable, to drive business value & decision making, whilst remaining in line with the business objectives, and within governance & regulatory policies.
You will be passionate about managing data as a valuable business asset & working with the business to find the best and most creative use of Vodafone’s available data and information assets, in a strategic, governed, and secure way, that unlocks commercial and operational value, while providing a return on investment (ROI). You will be responsible for engaging with the business to drive a change of culture from “reporting as a requirement” within a project to “Data Asset Management” as central to the business, and will lead a change in new data asset acquisition and management policies with a new framework, including Corporate Data Governance frameworks, Data Models, Data Lineage and Catalogues and building Data Delivery Roadmaps. As a senior manager, you will be expected to influence a variety of stakeholders across the leadership teams, including senior decisions makers, and will be expected to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including cross-domain and multi-vendor engagements. Key accountabilities include:
Ownership of the UK Business Insight & Reporting Platform Data Model(s) for EDW and ensuring appropriate models are in place and maintained for other non EDW data platforms.- Ownership of the CORE datasets required to support the business within Teradata/GCP.
- Responsible for working with the business to drive adoption and ensure data lineage is in place appropriately for any entity or data source in UK Business Insight & Reporting Platform(s) with appropriate catalogue & business definitions.
- Establish and lead the implementation of a new “Data Acquisition & Management” strategy across the Business.
- Accountable for implementing the framework and owning, governing and working with the partners to ensure adherence of the policy.
- Understand the business roadmap & strategic initiatives.
- Work with the senior business stakeholders and IT to implement the strategy into individual project deliverables at a program level.
- Demonstrate the value of a data asset to the business and why data asset management is a key pillar and lead cultural change across the UK and Group organisation on DATA AS AN ASSET & Value led delivery.
Who you are
Excellent technical, data and architectural understanding & ability to work with solution architects from a wide variety of disciplines/platforms.- Ability to engage, inspire and influence at a senior level, and drive decision making at Senior Leadership and Director level.
- A good commercial and financial understanding with demonstratable business partnering ability.
- Proven ability in delivering cultural change within a large organisation.
- Ability to use creative thinking to find strategic solutions to complex problems for the benefit of the wider business.
