Job description

Perfeq Pets are a small but successful pet care company with an excellent reputation in the local community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, like-minded person to join our team and take on a management role. There will be an extended period of training provided with ongoing supervision.

Please note it is essential that you hold a driving licence.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has at least 1 year of experience working with dogs in a professional capacity.
  • Shares the Perfeq Pets values and ethos in relation to dog enrichment, training and care.
  • Has previous management or leadership experience.
  • Is a self-motivated, proactive worker with the ability to work through tasks on their own.
  • Has a demonstrable interest in canine behaviour and training.
  • Feels strongly about providing the dogs in their care the most enriching and positive experience possible.
  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Enjoys working with clients as well as with their pets.
  • Can evidence good time management and reliability.
  • Is happy to work outside in all weather and not be afraid of getting their hands dirty.
  • Works well within a small team environment.
  • Holds a full clean driving license.

The job role includes:

  • Walking groups of dogs both in our secure field and out in the local area.
  • Supervising and entertaining groups of dogs in our daycare.
  • Developing a relationship with the dogs in our care and their clients.
  • Providing informative and valuable feedback to the clients about their dogs behaviour.
  • Training dogs 1 to 1 in daycare.
  • Picking up and dropping off dogs from their homes using a work vehicle.
  • Performing health checks on the dogs.
  • Basic grooming and feeding of the dogs.
  • All aspects of general care and enrichment for the dogs in daycare.
  • Ensuring the facility is clean.
  • Engaging with clients on social media.
  • Supervising a small team of staff.
  • Taking daycare and dog walking bookings.
  • Various admin work.

The role may extend to include:

  • Providing or assisting in dog training classes or individual training sessions.
  • There is also potential to expand into other areas of dog care.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £19,800.00-£21,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus scheme

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Soham, CB7 5HX: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Animal care: 1 year (preferred)
