Job description
We are an electric performance brand, determined to improve the society we live in. Our focus is on uncompromised design and technology. Passion and emotion drive us, electricity and innovation drive our cars. Our products are excellent, efficient and entertaining. In Polestar’s future, there is no room for shortcuts, excuses or compromises. We are all in, dedicated on our ambition. Guiding our industry forward through pure, progressive, performance.
Polestar aims to bring driving pleasure into a new era with an all-electric product offering of progressive performance cars that are designed and engineered without compromise. This will be combined with a hassle-free ownership and premium services, where all interactions and orders can be performed online.
The role
We are looking for an organised and creative videographer to work with in-house Documentary Film Lead to continue the work of our documentary film series “From concept to Car”.
The videographer's responsibilities include ensuring that the necessary filming equipment is available for use, capturing key moments on film, directing other camera operators on set where applicable, and editing film footage.
Alongside the DOP, you will be responsible for delivering at least one episode per month for our documentary series. To do so you will need to work closely with our R&D team, design department, HQ communications team and other stakeholders involved in developing the Polestar 5 model.
You are a multi-artist, responsible for everything from key messaging to final episode. Including, but not limited to:
Film videos on set or on location
Ensure that equipment for a shoot is present and working
Plan the shoot with the MIRA team and DOP
Edit footage in post-production
Direct other camera operators so that the needed footage is acquired
The team will consist of 2 persons, located at our R&D centre in Coventry, where most of the development takes place. You will be a part of the Storytelling team and report to the Head of Storytelling based at the HQ in Gothenburg.
We would like to see that you are a sociable people-person that easily establishes relationships. You are also focused on the process, with an attention to details.
We’d also like for you to be structured, on top of things, and self-propelled. Eager to find new perspectives and angles on automotive development. After all, we’re an electric car company, so having a passion for cars can only be of benefit.
The Storytelling team is a small group of seven people that works closely together. Working in such a small team means helping and supporting each other as best we can. At the same time, we work very independently within our areas of expertise.
It's important that you have experience of cinematography and editing. And because the docu-team will consist of two persons, handling everything from equipment to producing material will be up to you.
The job will include traveling and uncomfortable working hours.
