The British Museum is developing its Building Information Management strategy and is looking for motivated people with education or experience of information management to apply. This role will play a key part in an important project to create and implement new building information management systems within the Museum and the management of information exchanges on Capital Projects.
In this role you will support the implementation, requirements, and governance of Common Data Environments, and Information management systems. The role includes working directly with Project Managers, supporting information exchanges on projects and control of information as per the project Information Requirements.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Building Information Manager to establish and implement information requirements and implementation processes
  • Support the implementation and transition to a CDE environment for Capital projects
  • Work with relevant appointed parties to ensure project specific CDE solutions such are implemented in compliance with the Museum’s information requirements
  • Circulate accurate information requirements to project delivery teams according to project expectations and ensure agreed standards are met
  • Monitor information delivery milestones pertaining to project stages
  • In consultation with colleagues, including the with PMO Manager, Programme Manager and Design Managers:
  • Assist with the development of project information templates
  • Establish and disseminate the project’s information standard, including templates, project codes, security and classification systems, level of information needs, shared resources, and reference information for relevant project stages.
  • Manage and disseminate to Project Delivery Team existing asset information in line with information security requirements.
  • Undertaking quality assurance for information deliverables

Who you are:
You will be a proactive and resourceful individual who will work on your own initiative towards running multiple systems cohesively. You will be working in a professional environment with highly experienced colleagues and managers, so it is important that you are able to communicate and interact with a variety of individuals. You need to be able to identify problems and offer adequate solutions. You should have experience working within teams, using cloud storage and Common Data Environments. Prior experience working with Information Management or BIM and experience conducting research is necessary.
Desirable: post-graduate degree/equivalent in Information Management or Innovation. Experience with strategic/organisational business planning. Knowledge + experience of BIM and related software, the ISO 19650 suite of documents and open data standards. Prior work experience in the heritage/conservation sector and an understanding of construction project management.
