Bouygues UK has an exciting opportunity available for a Document Controller to be based from one of our upcoming construction projects in the Bristol area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Document Controller who is keen to work in a fast-paced and busy construction environment, with a collaborative and friendly site team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, manage, and control the electronic document management systems (EDMS) for project(s) which complies with Client requirements and current company procedures, informing all project members of their responsibilities.
- Provide onboarding/training/guidance and support to project team users (including clients, contractors, and consultants) to ensure they understand the approved means of managing, exchanging, and archiving of information as per project/company protocols.
- Distribute and communicate all project-related information through the EDMS to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring information is up-to-date, accurate and complies with project information Management protocols.
- Coordinating with the project team which set of documents forms part of the relevant package(s) and link the content of each approved design package to a respective location on the collaborative tool.
- Monitor compliance and report on information status and ensure timely submission of information within the EDMS.
- Responsible for organising any printing of hard copies of approved deliverables, as required in-line with the BYUK archive and filing plan.
- Responsibilities to include liaising between project team and any external supply chain member employed to organise Health & Safety Files/Logbooks and the Operational & Maintenance Manuals to ensure appropriate submission of the approved as-built drawings for inclusion within post completion documentation.
- Responsible in assisting the Senior Document Control Manager with the setup of new projects on the company information management tools as/when required.
- Support other members of the wider document control/information management team when deem necessary including sickness and holidays.
- Be the key point of contact for all document control related issues for project(s).
The person will ideally have:
- Good all round Document Control knowledge
- Experience of Viewpoint for Projects
- Good IT skills (MS Office, Windows 10, SharePoint, TEAMS, Office 365)
- Capacity to work effectively both on an individual basis and as part of wider project team
- Systematic problem solving ability
- Exceptional organisational skills (prioritising tasks, respecting deadlines, methodical work)
