Job description

The University of Liverpool Diversity and Equality team is seeking to recruit a self-motivated, team-player, with excellent interpersonal skills and expertise in equality, diversity, inclusion (EDI) and wellbeing related topics.

The Diversity & Equality Officer will work with colleagues across the institution to embed EDI and wellbeing in all that we do, for the benefit of key stakeholders, including; staff, students and visitors of the University.

This is a challenging and exciting role that will require; in-depth knowledge of UK equality related legislation, expertise in the field of EDI and wellbeing and outstanding organisational skills. The post holder will need to demonstrate a proven ability to write and develop policies, as well as carrying out data analysis for the purpose of report writing/presentations.

The Diversity and Equality Officer should be educated to a degree level or equivalent, with experience of managing people and projects whilst building strong and successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

There is one permanent post available, however job share will be considered.

This is a hybrid role which requires some on campus presence (subject to operational requirements), which also has the flexibility of some remote working.

Assessments/Presentations and Interview Dates:
Once shortlisted, candidates will be invited to present (virtually) to a group of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) champions and representatives from across the university.
These presentations will be recorded and feedback from observers will be shared with the Interview panel for consideration. Details of the presentation topic, will be shared with shortlisted candidates. Interviews will take place (virtually) the following week.

Assessments/presentation dates: Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd March 2023
Interview dates: Thursday 30th and Friday 31st March 2023
