We're looking for a Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, someone who is passionate with a demonstrated interest and experience to support our diversity and inclusion strategy.
Reporting into the Head of Diversity and Inclusion and working with the business, the ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to co-ordinating and administrating a variety of projects to support our D&I strategy.
Sytner Group is leading the way in Diversity and Inclusion, and as a brand new role, this is a really exciting opportunity to play a key part in supporting the D&I work we do.
The Responsibilities
As a Diversity Coordinator, you will promote, support and celebrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) across the group.
- Co-ordinate and support work on the DEI action plan
- Organising and sharing DEI project updates
- Assist in the organisation of any Diversity events
- Contribute to the ongoing promotion of Diversity (internally and externally)
- Assist in delivering Diversity workshops and training as required
- Support and attend with general DEI meetings when needed
- Help with organising / co-ordinating meetings e.g. minutes and agendas
- Maintain all DEI paperwork & Logs (activity spreadsheet)
- Offer a dealership presence (f2f or virtual) where possible
- Help to build and maintain a calendar of events and promote these
- Support with organising and developing Sytner's Diversity network groups
- Working with marketing and network groups to develop DEI content
The Requirements
- Ability to build relationships
- Compassionate
- Have extensive knowledge of DEI and culture related activities
- Ability to have presence at various dealerships
- A good understanding of UK equality legislation and how it applies to employers and service providers.
- An up to date understanding of DEI best practice.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
- A broad understanding of Discrimination & Victimisation, and overall Equality Act
- Knowledge of the Protected Characteristics.
- Lived experience of DEI matters
- Awareness, knowledge and understanding of historically excluded groups
- Understanding of the social model of disability.
- An ability to navigate complex conversations around sensitive issues.
- Supporting to develop the knowledge and awareness of colleagues understanding of DEI across the business.
- Demonstrable understanding of micro-aggressions and the impact this can have on workplaces
- Understanding on DEI in the motor industry and awareness of other dealer groups activity
