About the Role:
Based within Student and Library Services, you will play an important role supporting the work of the Diversity and Cultural Change (DCC) team, working closely with the Manager and Head of DCC. ARU are committed to delivering a range of challenging targets through our Access and Participation Plan (APP) to reduce the outcome gaps experienced by specific student groups. This is important work that will contribute to levelling the playing field and delivering a fairer place to study for students from a variety of disadvantaged backgrounds.
The university is committed to undertaking a series of projects to advance race equality set out in our Race Equality Strategy. The Diversity and Cultural Change Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the institutional race equality work, including working closely with the Race Equality Student Advocates, and Faculty Race Equality Leads.
With a minimum of a degree or part qualified in a relevant professional qualification and with relevant experience, you will have a good understanding of diversity and cultural change themes including key concepts such as privilege, bias, anti-racism and allyship, as well as how these concepts adapt and evolve according to the needs of different groups. You will be experienced at working independently and as part of a team. You will be able to build good working relationships with colleagues and students to collaboratively achieve set goals and be aware of project management approaches.
