Job description
As a Retail Partner Stores District Manager, you are responsible for creating and driving a strategy to increase the overall annual growth of unit sales within a portfolio of retail stores located in Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, and part of Florida. You will analyze and identify trends in performance metrics reports (e.g., previous sales) and customer feedback to help formulate sales optimization strategy across a portfolio of stores. This data is used to influence, coach, and educate Retail Partner Store Specialist and retail staff on sales techniques and product knowledge (e.g., One Drive, Windows, MS Office, cloud storage, etc.).

Adapt Communication and Goals
- Manages shifting priorities and goals based on fluctuating performance results across stores, Specialists, Channel Managers, Category Managers, and Operations Managers. Communicates across various career levels of retail partner positions (e.g., Partner Store Market Directors, District Managers, and Store leaders).
Coaching and Training
- Develops, sponsors, and facilitates continuous training to Microsoft Specialists and the retail partner's staff regarding the Microsoft ecosystem of product and services, the Microsoft Brand, competitor analysis, sales techniques, and delivering on customer service expectations. Provides feedback based on financial, operations, and customer experience performance. Coaches side by side and role plays to evaluate and instill behaviors (e.g., prescribed sales techniques, technical knowledge, or product knowledge) within retail sales staff and Partner Store Specialist.
Collaborate
- Networks and partners with a range of internal and external partners to align the strategy and product knowledge that drives execution of unit growth goals across all categories. Participates in virtual teams with Microsoft corporate by creating and delivering on project execution (e.g., on boarding, diversity and inclusion) to increase proficiency and effectiveness of team.
Consult
- Advises and influences the retail partner leadership (e.g., Senior Market Director, District Manager, Store Leaders) regarding all facets of the Microsoft business demonstrating return on investment (ROI). Drives change management execution. Provides feedback from visit and recaps to the retail partners, Microsoft Regional Managers, and Specialists both in the physical store and virtual environment. Identifies talent at the retail partner's request.
Customer Focus
- Models customer experience excellence to the retail partner's staff. Advocates as the voice of the customer to influence corporate strategy and business initiatives that are supported by field deployment and execution. Provides coaching to retail partner's sales staff to improve customer experience and increase customer loyalty. Increase the customer relationship management. Responds timely to retail partner requests.
Data Analysis
- Gathers, integrates, and evaluates Microsoft and retail partner's key performance indicator (KPI) scorecard reports of financial, operations, and market share. Identifies trends within the data. Uses the data to identify behavioral focus and implement key strategies.
Drive Results
- Ensures goals are cascaded to the retail partner's leadership and those views are implemented in the account strategy. Operationalizes strategies aligned with retail partner's vision. Identifies and creates plans to remove obstacles, influences and educates internal and external staff, and holds internal staff accountable by monitoring behaviors and sales data. Creates a sales culture within the retail partner to foster better customer service, target attainment, and year-over-year growth.
- Conveys strategies to Partner Store Specialist and retail partners to better evangelize Microsoft’s products, initiatives, and promotions. Connects retail partner’s sales model with Microsoft’s model and collaborates with Store leadership and Microsoft Corporate teams to lift shared priorities. Influences the external partners to understand collective goals and invest time and resources into the relationship.
Strategic Localized Planning
- Develops market and/or district strategies and plans with Senior Market Director, District Manager, and Store leaders to achieve unit growth strategy, target attainment, and copartner objectives. Provides feedback regarding gaps up to Microsoft managers, and addresses the unique gaps of each market. Develops localized training initiatives to increase product and services knowledge, improve customer service and drive performance.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years retail sales experience, AND 3+ years people-management experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years retail sales experience, AND 2+ years people-management experience, AND 1+ year(s) multi-unit experience.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position support United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years retail sales experience, AND 5+ years people-management experience, AND 2+ years multi-unit experience.
Partner Store Managers M3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $73,800 - $127,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $88,000 - $132,000 per year.
