Key Qualifications
- Apple Engineering applicants must possess a degree in Electronic Engineering, Optics or another related Engineering program. They must have demonstrated strong technical background in a relevant field, for example optical systems, display technologies or other actuation and sensing applications. An ideal candidate will be able to perform initial technology feasibility analysis by identifying top challenges and evaluation using first principles.
- Preferred Experience:
- Prototyping and development of optical bench top systems, including lasers and sensors
- Prototype-level control S/W development experience
- Experience in modelling using MATLAB or off-the-shelf packages; optics, electronics, physics
- Experience with microactuation hardware and control software
Description
A successful candidate will work on prototype development using custom and off-the-shelf hardware to demonstrate new features. In addition, the candidate may perform modelling and characterization of optical, display and sensor systems to help decide future directions. This position demands technical strengths, together with excellent communication and organizational skills. There is a strong practical focus in our hardware incubation team, so hands-on experience and a willingness to prototype new ideas is essential.
