Job description
- The communication center at Midwest Medical Transport is a fast paced, high volume call center managing non-emergency calls.
- The Dispatcher is responsible for taking inbound calls, assessing and prioritizing the situation, and assigning and coordinating appropriate internal and external resources.
- To be successful in this role you must demonstrate well developed phone, in-person and written communication skills.
- Our communication and documentation systems are computer based making a demonstrated high level of computer operation skill essential.
- Since many times the Dispatcher and Communication Specialist are the first contact for a client, this person demonstrates a customer focused attitude to serve clients of diverse backgrounds at all times.
- The Dispatch & Communication Specialist maintains critical working relationships with our clients both internal and external.
- This position works a rotating schedule including days, afternoons, and night shifts as well as weekends and holidays. The person in this role is expected to be able to adjust to that schedule.
- We require a demonstrated familiarity with standard medical terminology.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Work well in a group setting.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a call center.
- Previous dispatching experience.
