SMS Environmental has an opportunity for an experienced Disinfection and Reactive Works Engineer to join our growing team in the Buckinghamshire/Greater London areas, on a permanent basis. This role will require travel.
The Dinfections and Reactive Works Engineer will be responsible for:
- Carry out Cold Water Storage Tank Disinfections and associated down services.
- Ensure that all appropriate preparation has been carried out to ensure the disinfection process can be carried out in a timely and safe manner
- Planning work effectively in terms of time required and access requirements
- Carry out other Pre-planned maintenance tasks associated with the CWST disinfections as required
- Work safely and responsibly in conjunction with SMS Method Statements’
- Liaise with other team members to ensure the task is safely completed
- Carry out localised disinfections of outlets and all associated pipework and fittings including TMV’S.
- Carry out reactive microbiological sampling when required
To enable us to deliver the SMS services to the customer, you will be working closely with engineers, operations coordinators and risk assessors to ensure we are always providing the very best to all of our clients.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have:
- Specific experience of the disinfection of water systems and down services in a range of buildings and environments
- Good understanding of working with disinfection chemicals
- Experience of leading a small team - Advantageous but not essential
There are some minimum requirements you will need to meet to be considered:
- At least 2 years' experience in completing Disinfections of Water Systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (DBS check) – SMS will pay for this if not already held
